Pastor Phil Whitener
Reverend Doctor Phil Whitener, a native of North Carolina, is the pastor at Ascension. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois, a Master of Divinity Degree from Lutheran Southern Seminary, Columbia, South Carolina, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Memphis Theological Seminary, Memphis Tennessee. Pastor Phil has served congregations in South Carolina and Florida over the past 30 years. He and his wife, Mary, have a son and a daughter, and a granddaughter.
Jim Rindelaub, a native of Minnesota, is the music director at Ascension. He received his Bachelor of Music Degree from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, a Master of Music Degree from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey, and is a deacon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Jim has served congregations in Minnesota, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas and Florida over the past 30 years. He also serves as the executive director of Association of Lutheran Church Musicians. Jim and his wife, Stephanie, have three grown sons living in New York, California, and Florida.

Siggi McGlotlhin joined our church on 3/12/2000. She is from Helmbrechts, Germany where she was a tax accountant. Both Church Secretary and Council Member at Large, she loves helping out any and every ministry in the church where she sees a need. She and her husband, Ken, have two daughters and two grandsons.
Donna Noeske is from Escanaba, Michigan. A former stenographer, she has served as our Church Sexton for many years. Her dedication keeps the sanctuary and classrooms in tip top shape. She is responsible for the many positive first impressions visitors have of our church. Donna also enjoys Shepherd's Center classes. She is the mother of four daughters and four sons. She has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Skylar Martinelli has attended our church for many years and became a member upon her confirmation. She took over responsibility as Nursery Attendant in 2017. Skylar has passed all training and background checks as required by Florida statutes.
